Funny is ... Demotivators

If you haven't discovered Demotivators, you are missing out. I think Hubby introduced me to them years ago, but only recently have I discovered that I have some favorites. I guess the idea of "un-motivating" someone turned me off initially, because I just want to make people smile or giggle or "motivate" them to be silly --- or to reach the pinnacle, which is to make someone laugh so hard, they poot!  (It worked on my daughter once...years ago.  Man, it's been downhill from there.)

Anyway, there are some real crowd-pleasers among the bunch. Just try Googling "Demotivators" and you will find a ton of posters, not just from Despair.com but from offshoots. Of course, you can make your own but I am not nearly that creative.

To that end, I will share one of my favorites I found on Despair.com:

I've posted this on Facebook, so forgive me if you've seen this before.  I just think it's hilarious when you look on the bright side of things and the bright side happens to be "death by meteorite."

Funny is ... Chupacabra

On the heels of the news of another posted "sighting" of a Nessie-Lite in England, I had to laugh while doing a search for a legendary creature called .... Chupacabra. Okay, maybe it's just the name that cracks me up. According to Wikipedia, the name means "goat sucker." Hey, I've been around enough goats in my life to determine that anything that eats goats is probably a good thing to have around.

Apparently, the chupacabra could just be a coyote infected with parasites. I've seen pictures on Google of suspected chupacabras. If that's what a parasite infection looks like, Wile E. better get his butt over to CVS and stop worrying about that pesky road runner. This disease looks serious!

Funny is ... Talking about Idiocracy (the movie)

To me, the hallmark of a funny movie is if it makes you laugh without watching it.  Idiocracy is one of those movies.  I was in the car with Hubby and one topic led to another until it led to Idiocracy.  Before we made it a mile down the road, we were laughing our butts off.  Did this thing even make it to the theater?  I'm not sure because I only discovered it on cable.  Yeah, it's one of those things you have to watch if you haven't already.  If you have an above-average IQ, you get the satire of this film.  It's full of stupid jokes but the beauty of it is that you just know --- It. Could. Happen.  If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about.

Hubby says none of us should be too proud; we all have a little stupid in us.  If he had come across a show on TV, like in the movie, titled "Ow! My B*lls!" he probably would have stopped to watch.  Heck, so would I.  Bad sign.  Reminds me I need to go back to my textbooks and get smart again before I start drinking Brawndo instead of water.

Funny is ... Laughing out loud

For me, there is no greater joy than laughing ... several times a day.  I have found that over the years, I have really let myself go in terms of discovering what is funny, whether it's a baby's snot bubble, my kids saying something completely random or obscure, or my husband dancing to music only he can hear.  I love seeing other people laugh and I love it when other people share their funny stories, jokes, or anecdotes.

I have found no greater relief from the doldrums than laughter.  It's the only contagious thing I hope to catch.  If you want me to catch yours, please feel free to pass it to me.
