Funny is ... Chupacabra

On the heels of the news of another posted "sighting" of a Nessie-Lite in England, I had to laugh while doing a search for a legendary creature called .... Chupacabra. Okay, maybe it's just the name that cracks me up. According to Wikipedia, the name means "goat sucker." Hey, I've been around enough goats in my life to determine that anything that eats goats is probably a good thing to have around.

Apparently, the chupacabra could just be a coyote infected with parasites. I've seen pictures on Google of suspected chupacabras. If that's what a parasite infection looks like, Wile E. better get his butt over to CVS and stop worrying about that pesky road runner. This disease looks serious!

Well, if you are in the mood for a Chupacabra sighting of your own, you need not look any further than a copy of the latest Scribblenauts game. My son loves this game and so, for me, he input a request for a Chupacabra in his screen and got ... this:

Hmm.  Looks like a human/lizard hybrid with weird mohawk spikes and friendly, red eyes.  Almost reminds me of when I saw the V miniseries when I was a kid and aliens took their human skin off.  To please any Nessie fans, he threw her in there too:

There you have it.  No need to go to Mexico or England to have your own encounters.  I think the cartoony versions are much nicer anyway and most likely won't eat your goats.
